Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; It is the department of dentistry where the diseases in the mouth, teeth and jaw area are evaluated clinically and radiologically and treated using medications and surgical methods.
This branch of dentistry includes; tooth extractions, wisdom tooth extractions, embedded tooth operations, jaw joint treatments, dental implant applications, surgical treatment of jaw fractures, surgical treatment of jaw tumors, treatment of abscess and cysts in the jaws, stem cell PRP treatments, PRF applications, jaw disorders treatment, orthognathic surgical treatments (corrections of deformities that cause aesthetic and functional problems in mouth, face or jaws using surgical methods), and advanced dental implant surgery applications such as placement of dental implants which are the most commonly used in dentistry, and placement of bone grafts in implant sites that have inadequate bone.
